All the way out of the woo-woo closet – or ‘Not Afraid to Woo with Moo!’

There are a lot of people these days who fear coming out of the closet, one way or the other. Whether it’s for their beliefs, their sexuality, their politics or their reluctance to conform with society’s latest rules.

As a healer, I fit in with the closet busters, under the ‘woo’ heading and agree it can be a bit scary out there! I think there are a lot of healers/energy therapists out there, who fear coming out about what they do because of lack of public acceptance and understanding.

That’s a real shame because there’s a whole raft of people with holistic and alternative knowledge on how to heal the body and they are probably not reaching a wider audience, for fear of being misunderstood – or let’s face it, fear of abuse!

Well newsflash – given the world we currently live in – abuse and trolling are where it’s at. ☹ While I don’t condone it, I have to be realistic about the fact that it happens. So, one thing most people, whether they’re in the ‘woo’ category or not, have to accept is that by going online and inviting a larger audience they are also going to get haters.

Yes, I know it doesn’t make sense. Why don’t they just scroll on by when they see something they don’t like or don’t agree with? Why do they feel they have to personally attack someone’s ideas or character, when they don’t even know them?

Well, most of it stems from fear. By lashing out at what is different or unknown they can feel a bit better. Perhaps they even see it as defending themselves against things they don’t believe in that, if they don’t take action, might subtly infiltrate them and suck them in?! They might also, just be feeling really snarky and having a bad day, like we all do. But the point is, it happens.

We just have to man (or woman) up and get out there anyway! If you’re in the business to help people, then that’s what’s really important. Not what someone thinks of your clothes, your ideas or your beliefs.

With that said, it’s time to go a bit more ‘woo with Moo’ on this blog! I’ve posted before about our cat, Moo, who we communicated with while he was alive, and who, after passing on, actually didn’t pass very far, as he stayed on to help us in our healing work. Well, it’s actually a lot more than that.

Firstly, he wasn’t ‘just a cat’ (no offence to all those felines out there!) he was also a human soul in a cat body. And yes, that is a thing that happens. It’s a great way for a soul to be close to, help and build a link to a person, or people.

After all, think about the people that are in your life ALL THE TIME. Children, if you have them, (until they leave home) and your partner. That’s pretty much it! Not a lot of openings available!

Moo came specifically to be with us and to re-establish a link that already existed between the three of us. So now, instead of having some nebulous sort of guide figure that might turn up in a healing session, we know exactly who is there and can interact with him on a much deeper level. Basically, we get more Moo– hooray!

So, there’s shocking idea no 1: that some animals are not animal souls, they’re human – or even angels or other beings. The magnificent Bob the Street Cat for example. Anyone care to take a punt?! Because, no, he wasn’t a cat soul if you hadn’t already guessed.

Animals like that turn up with a mission! And that mission is often a person – or people in our case! 😉 Because Dan and I have met Moo before. I didn’t immediately know it though. It actually took me an embarrassingly long time to get the memo! It was a bit of a shocker too when I realised he wasn’t a cat soul, but it made sense once I was able to open my mind to the possibility.

In fact, when Moo was ill, we had to do a bit of digging into his past lives to find ways to help him, as he had some patterns running from previous existences (just like humans do!) that were causing him problems.

Although we do talk to Moo a lot, we haven’t gone into detail on his past lives, as there is always too much else to talk about! However, we do know of a few. He had a couple of lives in Egypt – very, very long-ago Egypt! One as a little boy who was trying to save his father (I have covered that in my book, ‘There’s More to Your Cat’) and another more spiritual life working in a temple of some sort.

His most recent, and final human incarnation, was a couple of hundred years ago in China. He lived a very spiritual, more reclusive sort of life, which rounded off his experiences so he didn’t need to return.

I am obviously very attached to the idea of Moo as a cat, because that is how I consciously remember him. But I was also rather curious about what he might look like as a human. Being Moo, he was keen to help us out and asked Dan if he’d like to be shown. Dan decided he could handle it, so Moo showed him, and then, being simply too curious to stay in the dark, I asked Dan to draw him as best he could.

So…drum roll… a possible blogging first?! I don’t know!  – but here is a picture of our ‘cat’ in his last human incarnation, with apologies from Dan as it was hard to translate accurately onto paper, but I think he did a great job!

Yeah. So… if that isn’t worth a least a couple of trolls, I don’t know what is! 😉  But seriously, mine – and Moo’s! – message to all of you healers and helpers out there, is – if there’s nothing else stopping you, then don’t hold back! Go for it anyway.

One day, people will learn how to communicate peacefully with each other when they disagree. If you’d like to see that in action and you also want to learn a shedload more about healing in all its forms, then look up Healers Rising, a paid community online. It’s worth every penny!

But don’t wait for the world to change. Get out and help the people that need you – they’re waiting for you to step up!
